Susan Knight Smith works primarily in pastel because the medium allows her to combine her love of expressive drawing with vibrant color. Painting trips to France and Italy have inspired some of her favorite landscapes. In addition to landscapes, she enjoys painting still lifes, interiors, garden scenes, figure studies, portraits - and her grandchildren. Smith is a Member of Excellence in the Southeastern Pastel Society, a Member of Excellence in the Atlanta Artist Center, a Juried Member of the Portrait Society of Atlanta and paints on location with the Plein Air Painters of Atlanta (PAPA).
