| GALLERY REPRESENTATIONS Catherine, nicknamed "Katina", spent her childhood and undergraduate years in Northern Ohio. She entered and won many art competitions in school and was frequently called upon by teachers, family members, and organizations to help out when a design or an artistic hand was needed. After starting a family and moving to the Atlanta area, she taught community art classes, received her Masters in Art Education from the University of Georgia, and taught art in the public schools. . Katina now works full time on her painting and sculpture. Her experience as a high school art teacher allows her to work comfortably in a variety of media and she enjoys this flexibility. She has been inspired by viewing many of the world's great contemporary and historic artworks in her travels throughout the United States and Europe, and by working with numerous professional painters and sculptors. She also studied with several nationally known artists Most of Katina's paintings are executed in pastel, acrylic or watercolor. She works mainly in her studio but also spends a few days a month painting en plein air in a variety of regional locations Katina shows work in several galleries and juried competitions and also creates pieces on commission. Her studio is located at the Tannery Row Artist Colony in Buford, GA.
