Sharon Margolies was born in Illinois. Raised by parents who were both artists, she was acquainted with many different art mediums at an early age. She studied art at The University of Illinois and The American Academy of Art in Chicago.

Her medium of choice is pastel, although she also enjoys working in oil paint. People, animals, and landscapes are the subject matter of the artist’s paintings. She is currently accepting portrait commissions of people and pets.
